When it comes to saving for a down payment it seems like a daunting task if you have not been saving since your first paycheck. Don’t get discouraged – there are still changes you can make, it just takes some dedication and discipline depending on your time frame!

It is a sellers market this time of the year here in Alaska. With people still thinking about selling and not making the leap, the amount of houses that are on the market are relatively small. This is the time to get the best dollar for what you have without having to do absolutely every modification that you think you need. When the selling inventory is low, it allows for minor things to be given a fair chance at not coming up to a big deal. Of course you always want to make your house as presentable as possible, but in the chance that time is not on your side, you can lower the price some to compensate and allow that minor detail to not be the deciding factor.
